Winter:
Taxes are due and payable from December 1st through the last day of February. Any taxes not paid by the end of February will become delinquent (see township information on foreclosure) and will become the responsibility of the Ingham County Treasurer in Mason, MI. for collection. Interest and penalties will be added by Ingham County to the tax amount due.
Taxes may be paid to the Township of White Oak by mail or in person at the Township office. During “tax time” the township Treasurer will be at the White Oak Township office 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday and Thursday. The office will only be open one day between Christmas and New Years. However, there are extended office hours that day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Also, there are extended office hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the last day to pay taxes before they are considered delinquent at the end of February.

Summer:
The State Education Tax (SET) is called the Summer Tax. It is a 6 mill tax created as part of Proposal A in 1994. The tax, while collected locally, is a state tax used to support all School Systems in the state.
Prior to 2003, the SET was collected with the winter taxes. Beginning in 2003, State law requires that all SET taxes must be collected by September 14th. Because of this change, the 2003 assessment was lowered to 5 mills (for 2003 only). In 2004, the tax returned to 6 mills.
Summer taxes may be paid to the Township of White Oak by mail or in person at the Township office. Summer taxes can be paid between July 1st and September 15th. During this time the township Treasurer will be at the White Oak Township office 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday and Thursday and 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. There are extended office hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the last day to pay Summer taxes before considered delinquent on September 15.
